He challenged us to  put there same energy we we have in our 9-5 with the time we have with our family.  Great practice to put into play since God says family first.  Time is short and we all hear that all the time.  If i just had more time; where did the day go….we can go on and on but time in limited.

So my challenge to you is TIME + ENERGY = FAMILY FUN!!

My heart had harden towards a few people and while I had forgiven them for the hurt they caused me I never let it go.  That hurt turned into anger towards them and began to harden my heart.  I never stop loving God but i wasn’t able to worship Him with a full heart.  I wrote a post not to long ago about healing and how to get over things….I probably should have listen to what I was typing and put it into practice.  I got away last weekend and was able to lay around and think about where I was and how I had let me family down because I let hurt turn into anger.  I’m so blessed by God’s grace.  Even when we don’t deserve it God is always there to rain His grace on us.  As I laid in my hotel bed I began to just talk to God and asked Him to heal my broken harden heart.

As I sat back and looked even more I noticed that it wasn’t just those who hurt me but myself too.  I want to speak to anyone and everyone in ministry here.  Never put ministry over you family no matter what.  It doesn’t matter how bad the ministry or history was when you got called there make sure your family is first in everything.  I failed at this in my last church.  I put the church and ministry I was over, over my family to help build it to something great.  While I saw great things happen in the lives of young people I missed worshiping with my family and growing with them.  I would come home late and leave early.  I put a ministry over my family.  So what i tell you as a fellow friend and pastor is that if you are here, right where I was fix it before you get burnt out.  My tank was empty and my fuel ran dry and I was so burnt out I was done.

Now to those who pastor’s and ministers serve, the church body.  Please make it easy on them to put their families first and allow them to worship with their families.  This is very important for the spiritual health.  Many of the churches I’ve been in I wasn’t able to worship with my family or was told that I was paid to do a job and I better do it or I’ll be gone.  That not the way God called His church to act.  Don’t put their pay over their heads when it comes to them putting their families first, it’s also what God called them to do.

Your heart may be like mine broken….but if you allow God it can be healed.  We are the clay in the hands of the Potter on the molding wheel.  We will crack but the choice is are we willing to allow the Potter to fix the crack or wait until we are fully broken.  Wherever you are what ever it may be let it go and place all your trust in God.  Don’t let those who have hurt you bring you down or cause your heart to be harden and broken.  Sometimes we have to just get away and refocus on a few things in our lives to allow our broken and harden heart to be HEALED by the Master!!

What drives you in ministry?

I’ve talked to so many people serving in different areas of ministry and after hearing them talk about where they are at I wonder what drives them in that ministry.

So many young guys get burnt out early on in ministry and some later. The problem is why they get burnt out. Most of the time they put their blood, sweat and tears into the ministry and in return they get no support or encouragement.

That’s a fact. Been there….had that happen to me. Encouragement is one thing we should get better at with those who do all they can do as Pastors to serve people. What drives them….PASSION.

If PASSION isn’t your drive for where you are at or doing then talk to God and make sure you are on the right track.

Make sure you are doing what God has called you to do and not what man wants you to do to make people in the church happy so they won’t leave.

What drives you….that is the question.

Resolutions are meant to be broken and forgotten while challenges well are challenging and push you towards a goal.

I want to encourage people in 2012 more than ever. I want to encourage ministers in all areas that are going through “the crap” that I’ve been through.

I enjoyed talking to my best friend on the phone today about vision casting and making disciples. As we talked the one thing that came out of my mouth was my passion for the church….us to see the importance of spiritual awakening. I think many of us are sleeping spiritually as to why we have so many church battles going on within the walls of the church building.

We can’t do things like we did in 2011. The message never changes but the methods do and we have to be willing to change.

What can you do to change the life of one person this year that is far from God? Are you willing to give your life for one year to INVEST in the life of one person so that they might see and meet Jesus through you?

Are you ready for an AWAKENING in the life of the Christian Church?

This just in….

“Seeing and savoring the supremacy of Jesus Christ frees you from the slavery of sin for the scarifies of love.”

When he shared that my mind began thinking how much we really savor a relationship with Christ. Many of us savor many things in life….we all savor a great steak cooked just right. You know that taste in your mouth or by just looking at in before you bless your meal your mouth waters. Ok now that you have that picture painted in your mind….do you savor Christ. Does your mind water when you sit down and ready yourself to read the Bible? Does you mouth water to tell someone about Christ? Does you heart beat fast with excitement when you see God working? Do you savor Christ like we savor things of the world.

Don’t get me wrong we aren’t prefect and boy would it be a mess if we all were perfect….yes you read that right….a mess. If we were perfect then why would we need Hope….we find Hope in Christ. I talked about how we are the church and not a building that believers gather in to savor Christ on Wednesdays and Sundays and then walk out to being what we are human. This is hard for me, I battle with the same things in life but again we are all clay in the Potter’s hands just make sure your Potter is God!

Do you value what Christ wants to do in and through you? If you value that then savoring Christ will come easy. So the question that I asked myself last night is what does my spiritual life water for? What do I savor to taste from God? I ask you the same questions to think about….
